Hello! My name is Kyung (pronounced k·young) and I am a designer and an illustrator based in New York City. I draw and work as a page designer at the Wall Street Journal.
I was born and raised in Seoul until the age of twelve, then I immigrated to the states. Illustration and design is my American dream--as much as that sounds corny.
My works have been recognized by Society of Illustrators and American Illustration. Clients include Pomelo Studio, UC Berkeley's Islamophobia Studies Journal, Layers Studios, and Fast Company.
I graduated from School of Visual Arts for MFA in Illustration as visual essays and graduated from California College of the Arts in San Francisco with a BFA in Illustration.
I’m always learning about how through illustration and design, we can make productive things happen in our societies. Visual representation of the world and people around us is important, and I am always exploring how we can harness that to tackle social and political issues.
Feel free to holler at me! My name means bright and I don't bite.
